Welcome to Avast Password Manager. These Terms of Service govern your use of the Avast Password Manager Chrome extension. By installing or using the extension, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

By accessing or using Avast Password Manager, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the extension.

2. Description of Service

Avast Password Manager is a browser extension that provides:

  • Encrypted password storage with AES-256 encryption
  • Two-factor authentication (TOTP) code generation
  • Secure password generation with customizable parameters
  • Password strength analysis and security recommendations
  • Local-only data storage with zero-knowledge architecture

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Avast Password Manager only for lawful purposes. You must not use the extension:

  • To violate any local, national, or international law
  • To engage in any illegal activities
  • To transmit malware, viruses, or malicious code
  • To harass, abuse, or harm other individuals
  • To infringe upon intellectual property rights
  • To attempt to compromise or attack our infrastructure

4. Privacy

5. Service Availability

While we strive to maintain consistent functionality, Avast Password Manager does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. As a local-first extension, most features work offline. Updates may be delivered through the Chrome Web Store.

6. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of Avast Password Manager, including but not limited to software, text, graphics, logos, and trademarks, are the exclusive property of Avast Password Manager and are protected by international copyright and trademark laws.

7. Limitation of Liability

Avast Password Manager and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use or inability to use the extension. This includes but is not limited to data loss, forgotten master passwords, or browser compatibility issues.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The extension is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the extension will be compatible with all websites, prevent all security breaches, or recover lost master passwords.

9. Termination

You may stop using Avast Password Manager at any time by uninstalling the extension. All locally stored data will be removed upon uninstallation. We reserve the right to discontinue or modify the extension at any time without notice.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
